The network of 29 European Consumer Centres (ECCs) empowers consumers to know their rights and to take full advantage of the opportunities the Single Market offers.

How we accomplish our mission?

The ECC-Net‘s legal experts assist consumers to solve their cross-border problems free of charge by providing strong legal expertise.

The network offers a unique overview and reliable information about consumer affairs in the Internal Market which can be used for policy making in collaboration with European and national stakeholders.

The network is financed by the European Union and the Member states.

About the job

Half of your time will go to the communication tasks of the ECC and the other half will be to support the case handlers in preparation of the cases. We require a communication background with ideally legal skills or administration.

We need you to have or Dutch or French as mother tongue and a (very) good knowledge of the other language and English.

As a communication officer:

  • You will be in charge of the website, writing new content, updating content and follow-up on statistics, together with the legal team
  • You will be in charge of SEO & SEA
  • You will be taking care of the social media profiles of ECC Belgium
  • You will take care of press releases and press contacts
  • You will need to report on a regular basis on the KPI’s related to communication
  • Mainly, all communication of ECC Belgium will depend on you, but depending on your skills we can also outsource specific tasks

 

As a case handling assistant:

  • You will check if a case is complete
  • You can send first answers to the consumers
  • You will do some preparative work for the case handler

 

About you

  • You have a Bachelor/Master in Communication, Organisation and management, paralegal studies, or other relevant for the job
  • You have a strong knowledge in Dutch, French and English
  • You want to combine communication tasks with actual helping of consumers
  • You like the challenge of juggling between all your tasks
  • You can work independently and at the same time, together with the legal team
  • You communicate clearly. You write well and like to use easy plain language
  • You like the challenge to translate legal information into easy plain language
  • You like developing communication projects to make consumers aware of their rights
  • You have good digital skills
  • Experience with Sitecore and Google analytics is a plus
